Summer Glau, an American actress best known for her performances in the roles of River Tam and Cameron in Firefly. Sarah Connor Chronicles. Selena Quintanilla......................Selena was born April 16 1971 in Corpus Christi Texas . She was the third daughter of Marcela Quintanilla and Abraham Quintanilla. When Selena was eight she began a career in a band created by her father. The group consisted of Selena and her older siblings Abraham junior, who played base guitar and Sister Suzette who played the drums as well as Selena was the lead singer in the group. Selena Y Los Dino was her name for the group and Selena was a singer with other siblings in restaurants, bars and wedding celebrations. The group was extremely and time-consuming for Selena as well as her brothers and sisters, so they did not have their childhood. However, they were encouraged to be dedicated musicians because of determination from Their father Abraham. Abraham senior was also a musician in the original band called Los Dinos. Selena Y Los Dinos officially began in 1981. It was a family business and the main source of revenue for the family. The Quintanilla family was determined to achieve success despite their difficult economic times and the lack of funds initially. Selena Y Los Dinos would gain popularity in the west states in the late 1980s. In 1986, the group got their first taste of success when Selena won awards for Female Singer of the Year and Artist of the Year in the Tejano music awards. Selena Y Los Dinos became known and celebrated after this point. They were on numerous Spanish TV shows of the Spanish language like El Show De Johnny Canales Siempre En Domingo and Sabado Gigante.
